Ask Barneombudet for help
The lawyers at Barneombudet (the Ombudsperson for Children) know both the legislation and the practice of Statsforvalteren (the County Governor), and assist families in some cases. An email costs nothing.
Barneombudet has been substantially strengthened in connection with the new legislation that came into force in 2017. In some cases they step in and assist families.
The telephone service is only for children, but send Barneombudet an email and explain the case. Lawyers with solid knowledge of the legislation and of the complaints system work there. Barneombudet also has good knowledge of how the various Statsforvalteren offices work when it comes to complaint cases. They can be of great help if they assist in the case.
